On May 24, the 2025 Yellow River Estuary International Friendly Cities Conference for Cooperation and Exchange was held in Dongying. 47 representatives from friendly provinces and cities in five countries, including Kenya, Laos, Uzbekistan, South Korea, and Spain, attended the event.
Themed "Joining Hands with Friendly Cities for a Shared Future", the event aimed to showcase the unique charm, innovative vitality, and development potential of different cities through city presentations and exchanges in key areas such as trade and commerce, culture and tourism, education, and agriculture. It sought to build a broader platform for inter-city cooperation, encourage the exchange of development experience, explore new opportunities for collaboration, strengthen bonds of friendship among cities, and promote urban development.
At the event, in-depth exchanges and presentations were delivered by representatives from Dongying City, Taita Taveta County of Kenya, Phongsaly Province of Laos, the Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan of Uzbekistan, and the Yellow River Delta Intelligent Agricultural Machinery Equipment Industry Academy.
On the same day, the Dongying-Uzbekistan Economic and Trade Cooperation and Exchange, the Dongying-Kenya Economic and Trade Cooperation and Exchange, the Dongying-Korea Cultural Tourism Cooperation and Exchange, and the Education Cooperation and Exchange of International Friendly Cities were also held.
