As an international school in Tianjin, Once again Wellington College in Tianjin has been recognised for its contribution to education, with two awards at the recent 2020 Tencent Education Awards in Beijing. This is an outstanding achievement for the College and underlines our commitment to education in both Tianjin and northern China.

This year's ceremony was a feast of ideas, with renowned educators gathering together. The awards are voted for by thousands of netizens, authoritative educational experts and scholars.
Dr Yang, Deputy Head of Wellington College Tianjin, was invited to participate in the education forum, where she, along with three other famous principals of international schools, expressed their views on "How to build the operational fortress and core competitiveness of international schools".

Deputy Headmaster Dr Yang was interviewed after the forum and award presentation, and said, "Wellington College in Tianjin has been following the Wellington College values for over 10 years. We want our children to experience respect, kindness and the courage to face unlimited challenges. At the same time, the school places great emphasis on educating the whole child, and we want our children to develop their strengths, understand their weaknesses, as well as grow their individuality. We believe that we will pass on the best educational philosophy and values to our pupils, and we hope that they, in turn, will become very confident individuals when they graduate. We want our children to see Wellington as the place where their dreams take off."

The College is situated in Hongqiao district, just north of the centre of Tianjin, an exciting and rapidly developing part of the city. As an international school in Tianjin, the College boasts a state-of-the-art campus and facilities echoing the distinctive classical style of Wellington College in the UK. The College opened in August 2011 and now has over 550 pupils with more than 30 nationalities represented.
