China's Youth Are Falling for Nature-Inspired Hot Pot

2026-02-02

Hot pot undeniably stands as a defining symbol of Chinese culinary trends worldwide. Over the past year, numerous emerging Chinese hot pot brands have launched overseas expansion initiatives, with Boiling Plan being one of them.

Founded in 2025, Boiling Plan has quickly gained popularity among Chinese consumers for its premium beef, rare wild mushrooms, and seasonal vegetables. Unlike traditional Sichuan hotpot, Boiling Plan emphasizes natural elements both in its culinary philosophy and spatial design. For instance, its restaurants feature abundant greenery and natural wood tones, incorporating plants and moss to create an immersive natural dining experience—a concept that resonates deeply with China's youth.

Notably, Boiling Plan integrates AI technology into its dining experience. At multiple locations, receptionists are replaced by charming robotic dogs, while back-end operations rely on an AI-driven digital infrastructure. For instance, AI-powered ordering systems predict ingredient demand based on historical sales data, weather patterns, and holidays, significantly reducing food waste.

To provide customers with fresher ingredients, Boiling Plan plans to establish ten ecological agricultural bases by 2026. Mushrooms, chili peppers, and beef sourced directly from fields in Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, and other regions will bypass intermediate distribution channels, lowering raw material costs while ensuring product freshness.

Following its success in China, Boiling Plan has incorporated international expansion into its strategy. In September 2025, its inaugural overseas investment conference secured 18.5 million yuan in partnership orders, signing 21 stores across 4 countries. By November, the Global Partner Program was launched, establishing cooperation agreements with partners from Japan, Singapore, and other nations. Boiling Plan has now formally initiated its global expansion goal of 10,000 restaurants within three years.

With the gradual establishment of ten ecological agricultural bases, Boiling Plan will continue to empower supply chains through technology, earn consumer trust through consistent quality. This will provide solid support for the expansion target of ten thousand stores, ensuring that the authentic and innovative flavors of China continue to shine in the market.
